Prior to 2000, there were only three study progams available at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. They admitted a total of 100 students annually and the number of all students were about 600 students. Recently, there were eleven study programs admitting a total of more than 1000 students every year. At presently, total number of Fisip Unmul students are 5336 persons. Thus, there has been a one thousand percent increase in the last twelve years.This increase by all means requires more space, more facilities, more lecturers and staff, and a more efficient management in facilitating teaching-learning processes.

Quantity and quality of lecturers have been paid considerable attention. As far as the lecturers are concerned, their number have increased considerably. Although lecturers-students ratio is not ideal yet, teaching tasks can be handled by the existing lecturers by applying appropriate human resources management. In term of lecturers education, however, their level of eduation have increased significantly. Most lectureres currently hold master degrees (78.26%), while those who hold doctoral degrees are 16.30% of them, and only 5.44% of them still hold undergraduate degrees.

In regard to facilities and infrastructures, new representative buildings have been built, such as buildings for diploma III and business administration study programs (two story building), for communication study program (two story), for online courses enrollment (two story), for postgraduate study (four story), and for the dean office and faculty administration (three story). With these new buildings, number of lecture rooms, office rooms, seminar rooms, and meeting rooms increase. In addition, the renovation of the existing buildings is also conducted so that large library room and conference room can be established.

All of such rooms are fully firnished, equipped with modern facilities. With this, lecturers can only bring their laptops or iPADs in delivering lectures as eletronic devices for presentations have been permanently installed. Students can also attach their laptops into wide screen LCD TV during seminars of research proposal or defence.

Faculty library has also been transformed into a digital library, where its members can now read digital references, particularly digital undergraduate thesis. The existing books have been barcoded so that it is easier now to manage library collection. To support this system, membership cards have been barcoded, and in making this card it takes about 30 minutes.

Non technical aspects are being paid considerable attention as well. Campus landscapes and environment have been remanaged so that Fisip Unmul campus has now become more convenient, greeny, and clean. This condition would greatly support teaching-learning processes.

Other facilities and infrastructures have also been extended such the extension of parking lots, the establishment of basket ball court, gazebos, etc.
